As a child, I never really had any pets growing up (I'm told fish don't count).  My mom convinced me at a young age that all dogs were too sloppy and stinky to set foot (paw) in the house.  It wasn't until my sophomore year of high school that I learned any different.  That year for Christmas my dad and step mom (er...I mean Santa) surprised us with a golden retriever.  Not only did I enjoy her sweet, quirky and cuddly character; I was awed by her ability to bring our family together.   I quickly learned there was much more to the canine kind than wet noses and muddy paws.  I knew it was just a matter of time (and finances) until I could have a dog of my own.

Six years later, along came Lola.  Lola is a three-pound, wild-at-heart morkie with a personality beyond words.  She's energetic, smart and incredibly sweet.  She is an all-socks-are-toys-in-disguise enthusiast and would do anything for a little human food (red and green peppers don't stand a chance when she's in the kitchen).  To Heath and me, Lola is family and the spark that ignited the flame for penn + pooch.  We wanted nothing more than to provide her with the best, but when it came to clothing, we simply couldn't find it.  So, we did what any set of logical (ha!) puppy parents would do; we started a company. (If you don't like something, then change it.  Right?!)   We teamed up with Heath's brother, Grant, and best friend, Jordan, and created a brand that values not only dogs, but classic style and superior quality. Gone are the days of itchy fabrics, restrictive silhouettes and tacky designs.  Today, we bring you what's been missing from dog closets all along; clothes they actually want to wear.
From all of us here at penn + pooch, we look forward to bringing the best to your dogs!  Until next time...
